University Singers

The University Singers is the choral ensemble of the UAA under the direction of Dr. Grant Cochran. While the group’s primary function is to provide a performing ensemble for music majors, membership is drawn from all academic areas of the University as well as from the community. Devoted to a wide range of musical styles and periods, the ensemble performs from three to four major concerts a year. Since Fall 2022, the University Singers have formalized a collaboration with the Anchorage Concert Chorus where both ensembles rehearse and perform together throughout the academic year.
During the semester, the University Singers rehearse on Mondays from 6:30-9:30pm at Central Lutheran Church (15th and Cordova) and on Thursdays from 11:30am to 12:45pm in the Fine Arts Building (room 124).
Recent repertoire includes Orff Carmina Burana, Schutz Seven Last Words of Christ, Vaughan Williams The First Nowell, Bach Aus der tiefe ruh, ±Êä°ù³Ù Stabat Mater, Mozart Te Deum, as well as a number of Pops programs.
