Dr. Helena Wisniewski’s early affinity for analytics led to advancing work in strategic computing, science, entrepreneurship, artificial intelligence (AI) and inventions, all experiences she has applied at UAA.

In 1973, Dr. Garth Jones and his wife Marie drove their Ford Pinto from New York City, where he had been working for the United Nations, to Anchorage. Jones had been living and working in the field of public policy and international development, with stints in Pakistan, Indonesia, and Taiwan.
Dr. Omer L. Carey arrived in Alaska in 1973, after having taught at several universities. He began teaching at the School of Business and Public Administration, which later became the College of Business and Public Policy. Over the years he served the College as professor, Department Chair, and Dean.
