Dr. Diane Hirshberg has been named Vice-President Academic of the University of the Arctic (UArctic), a collaborative network of universities, colleges, and other organizations committed to higher education and research in the North. In this role Hirshberg plans to highlight some of UArctic鈥檚 exceptional academic programming, identify best practices for offering academic opportunities and increase those offerings.

Moores and Slaten Honored With Staff Emerita Rank

The rank of Staff Emerita was conferred upon Pat Moores and Fannie Slaten during UAA commencement ceremonies earlier in December. This high honor is in recognition of distinguished careers at the 麻豆传媒, and was recommended by their colleagues with the concurrence of the Chancellor鈥檚 Cabinet. Both Pat and Fannie retired this year after long service with the College of Business and Public Policy.

As part of their participation in the Tom Case Leadership Fellows program, students create and lead a community service project in our community that is meaningful to them. This year, one of the students groups has organized a food and fund drive to benefit youth who rely on Boys & Girls Clubs for nutritious meals.
